JobCloud is the leading digital company for the Swiss employment market with several job boards that connect thousands of candidates with the right job every day.
JobCloud’s new Applicant Tracking System was developed to merge the German and French systems and manage applicants and listings from all platforms in one place.
The project’s main goals were to improve candidate screening and profile ranking in order to speed up the recruitment process.
The existing ATS was plagued by usability issues, outdated interface, and lacked essential features such as AI needed for effective recruitment.
Users often reported frustration with navigation, profile management, and communication with candidates. To tackle these challenges we started with research to better understand the current limitations and opportunities.
We looked at conversion metrics, engagement and UX best practices.
We conducted interviews with recruiters, hiring managers, and HR professionals to understand their workflows, pain points, and feature preferences.
Observed users interacting with the current ATS to identify specific usability issues and areas for improvement.
Analysed competitor ATS platforms to benchmark features, design patterns, and best practices in the industry.
I started with creating a new site map to structure content in a simplified manner based on users need to improved navigation and reduced friction.
To replace the inconsistent and outdated interface I created a new design system that aligns with JobCloud's brand identity.
Applicants profile sorting was made more efficient by focusing on recruiters feedback.
New AI technology was introduced to help match the right candidates with open roles.
New and improved features were added to the candidate profile design.
These features included: Easy applicant rating, flexible hiring steps and improved candidate data management.
With the MVP successfully launched and receiving positive feedback from users we focused on another pain point which had been raised during the discovery phase - the lack of collaborative tools.
Collaboration is an essential part of the hiring process and as such an important feature for any ATS.
We used a Role-Based Access Control system to allow recruiters to exchange notes, engage decision-makers, communicate with each other and share applicant profiles securely and easily within the platform.
A new ‘Discussion’ tab was added to the applicant profile page to facilitate communication between the team.
Users can follow the conversation in real-time using mentions as well as share ratings and notes.
